HEARING LOOPS
Hearing loops require a wire or foil antenna around the perimeter of the listening area. Hearing loops work in almost any application from larger buildings such as houses of worship or auditoriums to home sized units. Loops can also be installed at counters for most types of customer transactions. There is a superior loop solution for any facility, public or private, where sound is broadcast.
The loop signal is picked up by a small coil of wire inside the hearing aid, called a T-Coil. The T-Coil doesn't affect the battery life of the hearing aid. The signal from the loop plays through the customized hearing aid programming. The sound is mixed and adjusted by the hearing aid to compensate for the users hearing loss, giving as close to true sound reproduction as possible with an assistive device.
T-Coil equipped hearing aid users with loop systems enjoy crystal clear customized sound without wearing another complicated device that needs charging or batteries. An Induction Loop system eliminates background noise and echo by sending the audio signal directly to the hearing aid without extra equipment or devices to connect or put over the ears. To the listener, it sounds like the speaker is sitting on their shoulder, talking directly in their ear!
Loops are more likely to be used than other assistive systems because they deliver perfect sound for each unique hearing loss and do not require wearing or checking out something that identifies the user as different or defective. They can make a profound difference in the lives of the hard of hearing - anywhere that sound is broadcast.
